It is the governing body charged with promoting governance and has specific responsibility for overseeing the Medical Services Corporation. More than half of the members are users of the health services provided by the Corporation. They reasonably represent the composition of users in terms of age, gender, socio-economic level and representatives of special populations as required. The other members of the Board of Directors are residents of the areas served by the Corporation and are selected based on their interest and knowledge of community, legal, health, local government, banking, finance, industry and commerce issues.
